The Program
A simple guide to exploring The Vatican
Day 1 Your first day in heaven (get it).Small city, big dreams. Once you’re settled in your room, you can get out into the city by 12pm. For your first day I’d recommend checking out The Papal Basilica of St. Peter, it’s the most iconic building in Vatican City. Although very iconic and well recognized, it has very little to off and therefore requires less time. Once you leave you can explore one of the fine dining restaurants such as “Come ‘na Vorta” or “ll Bacaro”.
Day 2 Today you can spend your time at the Vatican Museum. Typical guided tours take 2-3 hours but nobody would judge you for spending your whole day in one of the many intricate parts. What makes the Vatican Museum so great, is that the galleries have hundreds of artifacts each, holding over 70,000 total works in over 1400 rooms. History enthusiasts describe the museum as “nearly impossible to grasp all the highlights.”
Day 3 For your final day in Vatican City, there are countless activities native to the city such as visiting the Sistine Chapel, Sending mail from the Vatican Postcard for a unique stamp, exploring the underground tombs, exploring the Vatican Gardens, or even attending a Papal appearance if its a Wednesday. Try something fun out! Its not ever day you visit the coolest place on Earth.
